Disability is any condition which makes a person unable to perform various activities. This disability might be due to some physical or mental conditions. But disability does not and should not stop a person from living a life. There are certain facilities for the disabled people, like cars for the disabled people, parking spaces for people with disabilities etc. Some organizations take care to provide special arrangements for people with disabilities.
There is a parking permit for disabled known as the disabled badge. This permit card is to be displayed when a disabled person has to park the vehicle. It exempts the disabled person from street car-parking charges and allows them to park in the parking spaces dedicated for the disabled people. This disabled badge scheme is for the registered blind, people having severe difficulty in walking; or having a severe disability of arms which makes them unable to operate the parking meters. This scheme enables them to have access to free parking as well as allows them to park on single and double-yellow lines for three hours.

There are various cars available for the disabled people. These cars provide extra space and secure mobility. These cars are specially designed for the people with disabilities, so that the process of getting in and out of the vehicle is quite easy for them and they can easily travel to short and long distances. These cars have very comfortable interior structure. These also provide easy driving options.

All the people with disabilities do not need the same type of car. Some people are able to sit in a car seat but they have problem in getting out of the car; some might be using a wheelchair or a mobility scooter etc. So disabled cars are now being manufactured according to the individualized needs of these people.

There are certain common features in these specialized disabled cars. There are ramps which are either at the rear door or on the side doors. This makes the accessibility much easier for the people using the wheel chair. These ramps function as levers and help the person to glide up and down the wheels of the chair. Then there is a lift fixed at the trunk of the car which helps in lifting the accessories or other luggage of the disabled people. Moreover, the seats provide more space for the people with disabilities so that they can easily move inside their car.

If a disabled person has to travel and stay at a hotel then they should make sure that the place where they will be staying must have all the facilities which they require. These places should have ceiling hoists to help them while getting in and out of the bed. There should be pull-down bars in the toilets as well as wheels with grab rails in the shower. Moreover, there should be an alternate route with a smooth and firm surface without any steps so that the people using wheelchairs can easily move around for accessing different facilities.
